Super Bowl LIVE Presented by Verizon Concerts Announced!

Music is alive in the Bold North! The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee, along with Jimmy Jam and Terry Lewis, announced the first of many performers and musical acts who will play free concerts at Super Bowl LIVE presented by Verizon. The concerts will take place throughout the 10 day festival happening on Nicollet Mall from January 26-February 4, 2018.

Sticking true to our roots, The Revolution, Sheila E., and Morris Day and the Time will honor the memory of Minnesota-born icon Prince at the Verizon Up Stage on Monday, January 29. This evening, dubbed ‘Prince Night,’ will conclude with a community sing-along of Prince's legendary song ‘Purple Rain.’

The Verizon Up Stage at Ice Mountain will formally open on Friday, January 26 with Tony Award winning artist Idina Menzel performing the song “Let It Go,” from the Disney movie Frozen.

Other artists announced as performers include Dessa, Sounds of Blackness, Soul Asylum, The Jets, Cobi, The Steeles, Vocal Essence, Mint Condition, Stokley Williams, The Suburbs, The Jayhawks, New Power Generation (NPG), New Power Soul, Bob Mould (of Husker Du), and Esera Tuaolo, the former Minnesota Viking who was recently a competitor on NBC’s The Voice.

More acts will be announced in the coming weeks, but be sure to plan your visit to the Bold North soon to experience these exciting performers!

The Super Snack Challenge is one step closer to naming their grand-prize champion!

On Tuesday, November 28 at Breaking Bread Café in Minneapolis, the Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee hosted the 10 Super Snack Challenge “All-Pro Chefs” for a special “cook-off” event, where each young chef prepared and presented his/her healthy snack to a panel of celebrity judges.

Winners of the Super Snack Challenge will be announced at the MNSBHC Legacy Fund Kids Tailgate Party to take place during Super Bowl week festivities. All together, the 10 All Pro Chefs will help the Host Committee award nearly $60,000 to local charities as part of their success in this competition.

In addition to this awesome event, the MNSBHC awarded Appetite for Change a $50,000 grant from Newman's Own Foundation as part of the Host Committee's 52 Weeks of Giving campaign.
