SOUNDS ANNOUNCE OPENING DAY FESTIVITIES FOR TUESDAY, APRIL 10

Pre-Game Concert, Magnet Schedule Giveaway, Post-Game Fireworks Highlight Home Opener

NASHVILLE, Tenn. – The fourth season of Nashville Sounds baseball at First Tennessee Park begins Tuesday, April 10 when the Sounds welcome the Iowa Cubs for Opening Day. Gates to the ballpark open at 5:00 p.m. with first pitch scheduled for 6:35 p.m. 

“Opening Day signals the beginning of another entertaining summer at First Tennessee Park,” said Sounds General Manager Adam Nuse. “We’re excited to usher in the 2018 season with a talented group of players and a full slate of promotions for the best fans in Minor League Baseball.” 

 

The night begins with the magnet schedule giveaway presented by FOX 17 News for the first 4,000 fans. From 5:05 to 6:00 on the Brauer Lounge deck, Cumberland Hospitality and Germantown Depot presents singer Sean Rivers in a pre-game performance.

American Idol finalist and Belmont University graduate Melinda Doolittle will sing the national anthem. Prior to the national anthem, the nation’s colors will be presented by Metropolitan Nashville Police Department. 

 

In the fifth inning, the Sounds will unveil a fourth Country Legends Racer to join Reba, Johnny Cash and George Jones in the famous Country Legends Race presented by First Tennessee. 

 

After the game, fans will be treated to the first post-game fireworks show of the 2018 season.

The 2018 season will be the Sounds’ 41st in franchise history and fourth as the Oakland Athletics’ top affiliate. Opening Day is set for tonight when the Sounds begin the season in New Orleans.
