AUSTIN, TX (July 13, 2017) – Sound On Sound Fest (SOS Fest) is proud to unveil today the daily music lineup for the second annual event, which is set to take place on November 10-12 in McDade, Texas. Single-day GA passes are on sale now at www.soundonsoundfest.com, along with three-day GA and VIP tickets, as well as various camping, parking and shuttle passes.
Single day GA passes to SOS Fest 2017 cost just $89 plus taxes. Three-day GA passes to the festival are still available for $189 plus taxes, while three-day VIP passes are also available for purchase for $379 plus taxes, which entitles ticket-buyers to the utmost festival-going experience at SOS Fest. VIP perks will include preferred viewing areas, expedited entry, exclusive food and drink offerings and happy hours, dedicated lounges and restroom facilities, and additional amenities that will be announced closer to the event date. Interested patrons are encouraged to act soon, as supply of the single day and three-day VIP passes is very limited.
Sound On Sound Fest will welcome one of today’s most beloved and sought-after indie acts, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, to close out the first day of the fest on Friday after a notable hiatus from live performances and recordings since 2013; alongside fellow Friday headliners Dinosaur Jr, who are performing “You’re Living All Over Me” in its entirety in celebration of the album’s 30th anniversary; and electronic synth pop band, Austra, both of whom will be helping to close out Day 1 at separate stages. Earlier in the day festival attendees will see performances from notable music acts like Pusha T, who is currently prepping the release of his newest album, King Push, for release later this year; along with additional day one artists like emo rock outfit, Taking Back Sunday; funk/soul/R&B singer Charles Bradley & His Extraordinaires, who will return to the festival after being forced to back out last year due to complications with stomach cancer; intergenerational death metal behemoth Cannibal Corpse; and more.
Concluding the Day 2 of festivities on Saturday will be experimental rock group Grizzly Bear, who will perform just after punk rock godfather Iggy Pop; as well as stoner doom metal legends Sleep, marking one of the only performances currently scheduled worldwide in 2017 for the stoner-rock pioneers; and Poolside at the newly formed DJs-only stage. Also performing on Saturday are Canadian rock band Japandroids; Cloud Nothings; French electro-pop group Yelle; American black metal act, Wolves In The Throne Room; Austin’s own Sweet Spirit and more.
Wrapping up the three-day celebration of music, art and culture on Sunday are festival headliners and Grammy-nominated folk rock sextet The Shins; and English doom metal band Electric Wizard, whose performance at SOS Fest will mark their only currently scheduled US performance in 2017; as well as a very special DJ set from Hot Chip. The final day of the festival will also see acts like new wave R&B project Blood Orange, led by singer, songwriter and producer Dev Hynes, Grammy-Nominated singer, songwriter and dancer Kehlani, who just released her highly-anticipated debut album, SweetSexySavage, in early 2017 to praise from critics and fans alike; industrial metal band Ministry, who are prepping their fourteenth studio album for digital release this Fall; alternative hip-hop trio Digable Planets and more.

In 2017, SOS Fest will once again offer ticket-buyers a truly unique festival experience at the beloved Sherwood Forest. Located just 35 miles east of downtown Austin and set among the beautiful Lost Pines Forest of Central Texas, Sherwood Forest is a 23-acre permanent renaissance village that features over 100 permanent buildings including shops, pubs, restaurants and stages, many of which will be again utilized in creating the festival footprint for the event. Through an expanded partnership with the Sherwood Forest community, ticket buyers can also expect an even more highly-curated festival experience, which will include a variety of medieval-style activities for attendees of all ages ranging from axe throwing to jousting to archery and more.
SOS Fest will also offer onsite camping for all ticket-buyers for an add-on price beginning at $75 plus taxes. This camping add-on ticket includes access to the GA camping grounds, although patrons must have a traditional GA or VIP festival ticket to access to the festival performance grounds. The festival camping area will have a 24-hour diner, a general store selling provisions and packaged goods, a private bar area, and private showers with hot water. The camping grounds will also host nightly shows and events, which will be announced in the coming months. Additional GA and VIP camping upgrades are available upon checkout online at www.soundonsoundfest.com.
For this year’s event, SOS Fest has worked to expand shuttle, transportation and parking options for ticket-buyers to ensure the safest experience for fans in Austin and beyond. In a new partnership with FestDrive, a fleet of shuttles will be transporting fest-goers from all major Texas cities, including College Station, Dallas, Houston and San Antonio, to SOS Fest for $35 one-way or $60 round-trip. For more details including a shuttle schedule, please visit festdrive.busbank.com/sound-on-sound-festival-shuttle/.
Additionally, the official festival shuttle pick-up and drop-off location for Austin will return to downtown at Mohawk Austin (912 Red River Street), where multiple shuttles will be running continuously throughout the festival weekend taking fest-goers to and from the event for a daily fee of $20 plus taxes. All Austin shuttle passes will be round-trip offerings and daily shuttle schedules will be available closer to the event via the SOS Fest website, festival app, and fest social media pages. SOS Fest has also made significant upgrades to the parking on site and will now offer three-day parking passes for $55 plus taxes, while single-day parking passes will also be offered for just $20 plus taxes.
