Osipov Set to Join Wolves
GLENVIEW, Ill. – The Chicago Wolves announced Sunday that defenseman Dmitry Osipov has signed a standard player’s contract to join the club for the 2017-18 campaign.
Earlier this year, the 20-year-old participated in the Vegas Golden Knights’ inaugural development, rookie and training camps.
After being selected first overall by the Vancouver Giants in the 2013 Canadian Hockey League Import Draft, the Moscow native collected 38 points (7G, 31A) through 239 games over four seasons with the Giants.
Traded in January 2017 to the Brandon Wheat Kings, Osipov joined current Golden Knight Reid Duke on the Brandon roster. With the Wheat Kings, Osipov nabbed a goal and two assists in 31 regular-season games.
Osipov joins the Wolves' 2017 training camp that opens on Sunday at Triphahn Community Center & Ice Arena in Hoffman Estates.
The week-long camp concludes with a set of preseason games against Central Division foes. At 7 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 29, the Wolves host in-state rival the Rockford IceHogs at Triphahn Arena in Hoffman Estates. Then on Saturday, Sept. 30, the Wolves travel to Milwaukee to face the Admirals at UWM Panther Arena.
