LINDBACK, PETTERSSON SELECTED FOR 

2018 AHL ALL-STAR CLASSIC

Milwaukee, WI—The American Hockey League announced today that Admirals goaltender Anders Lindback and forward Emil Pettersson will represent Milwaukee at the 2018 AHL All-Star Classic, presented by Turning Stone Resort Casino on January 28-29 in Utica, NY. 

 

The duo will compete for the Western Conference All-Stars in the Skills Competition on January 28 and for the Central Division against the other three divisions in a 3-on-3 tournament on the 29th.  

 

Back in the Nashville organization for the second time, Lindback has been superb in net for the Admirals this season. He has tallied a 15-6-3 record to go along with a 2.52 goals against average and a .921 save percentage and one shutout. He is currently tied for the league lead in wins, and tops AHL netminders with 715 saves and 1,452 minutes played.

 

The Gavle, Sweden native won his first five starts to the season with Milwaukee and has allowed two or fewer goals in 14 starts. Lindback, who played in six games for the Admirals from 2010-2012 while backing up for Pekka Rinne, has seen action in 130 NHL contests over his career, going 45-58-8 with a 2.87 GAA and a .904 save % for Nashville, Tampa Bay, Dallas, Buffalo, and Arizona. 

 

Playing in his first season in North America, Petterson is currently second on the Admirals roster with 24 points via eight goals and 16 assists while playing in 29 games. He is also second on the club in helpers and leads the roster with 10 power-play assists. 

 

Nashville’s 6th round pick in the 2013 NHL Draft, Pettersson began the season with mutli-point contests in five of his first six games, including four in a row from October 15 through 27th. He is tied for the team lead with seven multi-point games and has never been held off the scoresheet for more than two straight games. 

 

The 2018 AHL All-Star Skills Competition on Jan. 28 (7 p.m. CT) will pit the All-Stars from the two Eastern Conference divisions against those from the two Western Conference divisions in seven skills events.

 

In the 2018 AHL All-Star Challenge on Jan. 29 (6 p.m. CT), the four teams will participate in a round-robin tournament featuring six games of 10 minutes each, played entirely at 3-on-3. The two teams with the best records at the end of the round-robin will face off for the championship, a six-minute game also played at 3-on-3.
