Scottish 4-piece rock band Hunter & The Bear have unveiled their thunderous new single ‘Electric’, ahead of an October UK headline tour which has seen tickets fly, with Glasgow already sold-out and many more on the cusp of following suit.
On the songwriting approach to ‘Electric’, lead vocalist Will Irvine says; “We challenged ourselves to raise the game this year, we have been brutal with ourselves and tried to approach things in a new way. We’ve really enjoyed experimenting with our writing and having a bit of time and space to work on some different kind of songs.”
In 2017 the band released their debut album ‘Paper Heart’. Starting the previous August, they released a track every month, with a video, until the final package dropped in May last year. When the product of their efforts was released it entered the iTunes Rock Chart at number 6, the band signed with X-ray Touring and undertook two sell-out UK tours.
When the dust settled after the album release, the rest of the year saw two sell-out album tours and a hectic festival season before their next single ‘Skin Tight’. It gained some great Spotify playlisting and went in at number two in the iTunes Rock Chart. The band also sold out The Garage in London, and a hometown show at King Tuts in Glasgow went on sale and sold out in less than 4 hours.
Hunter & The Bear’s biggest headline tour to date in set in the diary for October - another huge leap for the band. Their hometown show at The Garage in Glasgow sold out in April, and tickets for the rest are moving fast. Will says; “We’re doing places like Gorilla in Manchester and Scala in London which are our biggest headline show to date which is totally bonkers for us!”
Hunter & The Bear are now looking down the barrel of what will be their most exciting year to date.
