On Veterans Day 2019, Humanetics Innovative Solutions, Inc. in Farmington Hills, MI. is proud to once again be the presenting sponsor for the Detroit Lions’ annual Salute to Service celebration featuring a line-up of events leading up to, and including, the team’s game against the Dallas Cowboys on November 17. The events are designed to recognize and honor active duty and former service members. This year’s Lion Players were Offensive Guard Beau Benzschawel, Center Frank Ragnow, Tight End Isaac Nauta, Defensive End Austin Bryant and Roary the Mascot.
Humanetics is a manufacturer and supplier of crash test dummies, which started in 1953. They currently have 200 employees at their headquarters and 800 employees across the 24 facilities in the world. In the 1950s, they pioneered the industry with the development of research dummies for testing air and space craft ejection seats. The technology of these early dummies provided the foundation for creation of automotive crash test dummies in the early 1960s. Since then, technological advances have contributed to constant improvements in the capabilities, quality and accuracy of crash test dummies. Humanetics produced the Hybrid I and Hybrid II series of dummies in the early 1970s, then introduced the Hybrid III family in 1976. In 1999, Humanetics acquired the dummy development and manufacturing business of TNO automotive, Europe's leading and largest dummy company, thus creating the first and truly global dummy development and manufacturing company.
Director Corporate Development at Humanetics Innovative Solutions, Bryan Brown said " Our partnership with Detroit Lions has been great, given us the opportunity to focus on our whole sponsorship on salute to military service".
The Lions Players helped to pack 500 care packages for military troops overseas with the work staff of Humanetics. Detroit Lions Player: Beau Benzschawel said, "Arm forces allow us to enjoy our lives in the United States, while they protect our country each day". They gave the Lions players and media personnel a tour of their office and indoor test sites. The Lions Players not only took photos with employees and signed autographs, they also ate lunch with them. Detroit Lions Annual Salute to Service Celebration was a great success.
