Detroit Lions Host Third Annual Cooking Competition

Not only are the Detroit Lions cooking on the field, some of the players participated in the Third Annual Cooking Competition. On Tuesday, October 29th at the Breithaupt Career and Technical Center in Detroit several of the current Detroit Lions players, Cheerleaders, Ford Field Chef, DPSCO Representative, The Culinary Institute of Michigan Baker College Representatives, and the Breithaupt Career and Technical Center Staff and selected students got together for a healthy competition.
Hosted by Former Detroit Lions Player T. J. Lang. This competition was afforded to four sets of students from Breithaupt Culinary program. The selected students were teamed up with a Detroit Lions player to serve as a sous chefs. On the Roster was Linebacker Steve Longa, Wide Receiver Marvin Hall, Defensive End Romeo Okwara, and Cornerback Rashaan Melvin. Roary the Lions Mascot was also on deck. The teams participated in three timed rounds featuring an appetizer, entrée, and a dessert. The grand prize winner will receive $1500 scholarship to continue their culinary studies at the Culinary Institute of Michigan, a Division of Baker College. Congratulations to Catalina Hulai. It was a great way to serve up some competition with a Win – Win Situation!
