Make Roster Moves
The Chicago Bears have waived rookie kicker Andy Phillips and have signed undrafted rookie wide receiver Alton Howard.
Howard, a 5-7, 184-pounder, played at Tennessee from 2012-15, recording 99 catches for 1,014 yards and four touchdowns. He had his best season in 2014 when he caught 54 passes for 618 yards and a touchdown while also rushing 15 times for 96 yards and two scores.
Phillips was signed by the Bears as an undrafted free agent on May 11 out of Utah. A four-time All-Pac-12 selection (first team in 2014) and four-time Lou Groza Award semifinalist, Phillips handled all of Utah’s field goal attempts from 2013-16 while playing in all 51 games. He holds the school’s career record for field goals made (84), attempted (100) and points scored (427).
