Wins Best Musician
in 2017 European Blues Awards

Anthony Gomes wins the Best Musician (Live Performance) category in the 2017 European Blues Awards. Winners of the 37th European Blues Awards were announced at the Manchester Blues Festival UK on Sunday, November 26th, before being repeated on Twitter during a #BluesHour Special on Monday, November 27th.

This is the Toronto born singer/songwriter/guitarist's first award in Europe. Anthony accepted the prize by saying, "It is an honor to be recognized in Europe. I have always had a deep respect for Europe's appreciation of music and culture. In many ways, European musicians were the architects of the blues rock music we play today."

Poland's Blues Online wrote on Social Media, "Anyone who saw Anthony Gomes at the Jimiway Blues Festival knows he is the best musician performing live in Europe." An article with video and a list of all the winners was included. To access the article, click the link below:

Anthony Gomes has been creating virtuosic, burning blues since his recorded debut in 1998. 12 releases and numerous awards and ecstatic accolades later, his latest album, Electric Field Holler, crackles with bare wire passion. The aptly-named, riff-laden Electric Field Holler has received highly acclaimed recognition; reaching #1 on both Roots Music Report's Blues Rock Chart and ReverbNation’s Global Blues Chart as well as earning several nominations for Blues Rock Album of the Year.

Gomes sings and plays with integrity and deeply felt emotion oblivious to fortune and fashion. The resulting music is a blazing cathartic experience radiating therapeutic heat for body and soul.
