AHL Names Dansk Goalie of the Month for March
GLENVIEW, Ill. – The American Hockey League announced Monday that Chicago Wolves goaltender Oscar Dansk has been named the CCM/AHL Goaltender of the Month for March.
During his nine games in March, Dansk produced a 6-1-2 record as well as a 1.75 goals-against average and .941 save percentage to help lift the Wolves into first place in the Central Division.
Dansk kicked off the month with his first AHL shutout on March 2 against the San Antonio Rampage — making 28 saves in the effort — and finished each game during the month with no less than a .909 save percentage.
He also began the month with three consecutive victories that were part of the Wolves’ seven-game win streak that began on Feb. 15 versus the Cleveland Monsters.
The Stockholm native’s only regulation setback came on March 17 against the Rockford IceHogs. That contest also marked the only one in which he allowed more than two goals.
The 24-year-old will be presented with an etched crystal award prior to an upcoming home game in recognition of his achievement.
Dansk should be available on Tuesday, April 3, as the Wolves attempt to secure their 19th postseason berth in the franchise’s 24-year history. Puck drop against the Milwaukee Admirals is set for 7 p.m. at Allstate Arena and the game will stream on AHLLive.com.
