INFO: This year celebrates 20 years of automotive history! The auto industry has made notable advances over the last two decades in terms of innovation, performance, cabin design and amenities, power supplies, body styles and even paint colors – and the Michigan International Auto Show has been a driving force in educating and entertaining consumers about this fast-paced Pure Michigan industry with Gentex Corporation as the presenting sponsor of this year’s show.
As always, the Auto Show is the greatest annual opportunity for the public to view their “next new car” with hundreds of new vehicles on display – sedans, vans, SUVs, trucks and hybrids – and factory representatives from nearly 35 different manufacturers (including a handful of Pre-Production models). And, unlike some other such shows, the public is invited to sit inside most of the automobiles on display to see how they feel when it comes to leg room, interior height, dash design, storage and more. Product specialists are also on hand to answer questions about the latest trends in technology, security, eco-friendly features and other features.
Classic cars in the Grand Gallery presented by the Gilmore Car Museum (celebrating their 65th year in 2018).
Luxury models from Aston Martin, Bentley, Ferrari, Maserati, Rolls Royce and others, in the Million Dollar Motorway.
Performance vehicles from Chevrolet, Ford and Dodge.
Toyota Drive Center – get behind the wheel of the first ever C-HR, the all new Camry, RAV4 and Highlander (all 2018 models)—and take them for a spin around downtown (select times each day).
Design Center Graffiti Wall presented by the Ice Guru provides attendees the chance to customize their own vehicle concept for social sharing.
Gizmo the Robot will be wandering the show floor, entertaining attendees of all ages.
The Pit Stop Diner will be serving up menu items that you might find at the racetrack—burgers, chili cheese dogs, bacon melts and even Dippin’ Dots.
PRICES: $12 adults, $5 children aged 6 to 14. Kids 5 and under are admitted free.
PARKING: There is plenty of close by parking – beneath DeVos Place, across the street and connected by skywalk. Event parking is $10 per day. For more information, click here.
